The Acuvue range here splits cleanly in two: lenses you wear once and discard, and lenses you keep for a set period. Seventeen versions are listed, which sounds like a lot until you notice that most of them are the same few lenses in a toric or multifocal version.
1-Day Acuvue Moist, Acuvue Oasys 1-Day with HydraLuxe and Acuvue Oasys Max 1-Day are the daily families. Each is available as a plain spherical lens and, in most cases, in a version for astigmatism or a multifocal version. 1-Day Acuvue Define is a daily lens with a decorative pattern intended to accent the iris.
Acuvue Oasys, Acuvue Oasys Multifocal, Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism, Acuvue Vita, Acuvue Vita for Astigmatism and Acuvue 2 are the reusable boxes. These come in packs of six and are replaced on the schedule your prescription sets.
Strictly speaking you do not choose: your prescription names the lens. What you do choose is pack size. Daily lenses come in 30 and 90 packs, and the 90 is usually better value per lens if you wear them most days. Reusables come in packs of six, which covers both eyes for the length of the replacement cycle.
Two things to check before ordering. The astigmatism and multifocal boxes are separate products with extra values on the prescription, so match the full name and not just the family. And a prescription carries an expiry date, which we verify before an order ships, so it is worth looking at yours before you fill a cart.
