EyeGiene takes a different route to a warm compress. Rather than a mask you heat in a microwave, it uses a fabric mask plus disposable inserts that warm on their own once they are opened. No appliance is involved at any point.
There are two parts. The mask is reusable and holds the inserts in place across both eyes. The inserts are single use and come in pairs, one per eye. The EyeGiene Starter System includes the mask and ten pairs of inserts. Once you own the mask, you buy refills, which come as a box of 30 pairs.
People who travel, work away from a kitchen, or share a microwave they would rather not use for this. It also suits anyone who wants the same warmth each time without judging how long to heat a gel mask, since every insert behaves the same way.
