Lacripure is a sterile saline solution from Menicon, made without preservatives and packaged in single use vials. It is intended for rinsing and inserting soft lenses, rigid gas permeable lenses and scleral lenses. Scleral wearers are the biggest group here, because a scleral lens is filled with fluid before it goes on the eye and that fluid is in contact with the cornea for the whole wearing day.
The only real question is volume. Work out how many vials a day your routine uses, then buy the pack that matches. If you fill two lenses a day from one vial each, a 98 vial box runs about seven weeks, so the two pack covers roughly a quarter of a year. The single box with the hand prep is the better starting point if you are new to sclerals and still settling into a handling routine.
Vials are single use by design. Open one, use it, and discard the rest rather than saving a partly used vial for later, which is the whole reason a preservative free product comes packaged this way. Wash and dry your hands before handling lenses, and keep unopened vials in their box away from heat.
Saline rinses and fills lenses. It does not disinfect them, so it does not replace the cleaning and storage system your practice fitted you with. If you are unsure which products belong in your scleral routine, ask your eye care professional.
