Retaine is the preservative free drop line from OCuSOFT, and we carry two items from it. Both are built on the same MGD formula, so the difference between them is how the drop reaches your eye rather than what is in it.
Start with the applicator question. Getting a drop into your own eye is harder than it sounds, and it gets harder with unsteady hands, limited grip, or when you are doing it several times a day. The Magic Touch holder exists for exactly that, and it is worth considering for anyone who has been giving up on drops because they end up on the cheek.
If aim is not the issue, the 60 vial two pack is the straightforward option and the one that lasts longer between orders.
Retaine sits in our preservative free vials category alongside Systane, Refresh, Oasis Tears, GenTeal, OPTASE and others. Single use vials all share the same basic trade: more packaging and a higher cost per milliliter, in return for a formula with no preservative and a fresh seal every time. If you are already using preservative free vials from another brand, moving to Retaine is a straight format swap.
Which drop suits you is a reasonable thing to raise at your next appointment, particularly if you are using them regularly or already have a routine your eye doctor put together.
