The S5 Inserter was designed by Dr. Fayiz Mahgoub to take the lens out of your fingers and hold it in position, so both hands are free to keep the lids open against the blink reflex.
The lens sits level in a holder on a stand, which keeps insertion solution in the bowl of the lens instead of running out down your hand. Less spilled fluid means less chance of an air bubble underneath once the lens is on. An LED light source sits in the base to help you line your eye up with the center of the lens.
