About the Product

Muro 128 2% is a sodium chloride hypertonicity ophthalmic solution supplied in a 0.5 fl oz (15 mL) dropper bottle. Sodium chloride 2% is the active ingredient and its stated purpose is hypertonicity agent. It is a hypertonic saline drop rather than a lubricating artificial tear, and the formula is preserved with methylparaben and propylparaben.

This is an over-the-counter drug that is to be used only under the advice and supervision of a doctor. The dosing schedule on the label is 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye or eyes every 3 or 4 hours, or as directed by a doctor, which places it in a daytime routine repeated through the day. The same Muro 128 line is also supplied as a 5% ophthalmic solution and as a 5% ophthalmic ointment, each with its own label.

Uses

temporary relief of corneal edema

Active Ingredients

Inactive Ingredients

boric acid, hypromellose, methylparaben, propylene glycol, propylparaben, purified water, sodium borate. Hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide may be added to adjust pH.

How to Use

1. Instill 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 3 or 4 hours, or as directed by a doctor.

Warnings

For external use only

Do not use

• except under the advice and supervision of a doctor
• if solution changes color or becomes cloudy

When using this product

• it may cause temporary burning and irritation
• to avoid contamination, do not touch tip of container to any surface
• replace cap after use

Stop use and ask a doctor if

• condition worsens or persists for more than 72 hours
• you experience eye pain, changes in vision, continued redness or irritation of the eye

Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

Storage

• store upright at 15 to 25 degrees C (59 to 77 degrees F)
• keep tightly closed
